Check to see if a payday lender is licensed

Any business offering payday loans (online or in person) to BC consumers must be licensed by us. To check if a payday lender is currently licensed, please use the search tool below.

  1. Under “licence type”, select “Payday Lender”
  2. (Optional) Type in the business name, licence number or city
  3. Under status, choose “Active” and click “Search”

Tip: To see the full list of payday lenders with active licences, select “Payday Lender” as the Licence type and then click “Search”. On this page, you can narrow the results by typing in a business name, address, street name or city in the search bar.
