Our blog policy

On our blog, we write about consumer protection in BC and share information on a variety of consumer topics. We don’t give legal advice or offer opinions. The content of our blog posts is for information purposes only. If you require legal advice, please contact a lawyer.

We welcome your questions and comments—you can sign comments with your own name, a pseudonym or anonymously. We review and approve comments and do our best to make sure your contributions appear promptly.

We don’t expect you to agree with us all of the time and we want this blog to be a friendly place for debate and discussion. However, we won’t post and/or will remove offensive, disrespectful, threatening and rude comments or comments that disclose another person’s private information, overtly promote products and services, make unsupported accusations, are clearly off topic or are spam.

The blog isn’t a political forum. It’s a place to discuss specific consumer questions and issues that are relevant to this community (including topics that fall within Consumer Protection BC’s mandate). Consistent violation of our policy will result in being banned from posting on this platform.

The information published here is current as of the original date of publication and we often have links to third party websites. We will do our best to update our information but if the content is older, we can’t guarantee that it is still accurate or that outside links still work.

Please note that we moderate and post comments during business hours only. Thank you and we look forward to speaking with you!
