Thinking about renting a car and heading out of town over the Thanksgiving weekend? Although car rentals are not regulated in BC, we wanted to offer our top two tips to help you with your car rental.
Top tip when booking a car rental:
Read the terms and conditions of your contact carefully. For example, are there restrictions in place, such as the age of the driver or where you can drive the car? Do you know your cancellation rights?
Top tip when picking up the vehicle:
Inspect the vehicle thoroughly before you leave the lot. If possible, take pictures of the condition of the vehicle, paying specific attention to any scratches or dents. Even if the company assures you the vehicle has been inspected, take the time to review the condition of the vehicle yourself.
There are many things to consider when renting a vehicle, so take time to do your research before leaving home!

Hi Nicolas,
We are not able to recommend one agency over another. You may want to consider checking with the Better Business Bureau or asking friends for a referral.
Good news. This is a great post. I like this topic. This site has lots of advantage. I found many interesting things from this site.
Hi, Milena
Thanks for helpful tips.I have one question: whether it is possible to insure the rental car on the Internet? If yes, there is a difference in the price?
Hi Gail, that’s a good question. I would assume that it’s possible but I’m afraid I don’t know much about it and it likely comes in various forms and various prices. While I’m not really able to give you advice on getting insurance on the Internet, perhaps you could do some research online to find out what kind of questions to ask to make an informed decision.
I went on a trip with my friends and for that we took a car on rent. The first thing which we did we to get a mechanic and asked him to check all the car parts like car clutch, car gears, car brakes, car steering wheel etc. Our trip was great and we enjoyed it a lot.
Happy to hear you had a good experience! Thank you so much for sharing.
