Future Performance Contracts Print E-mail

A future performance contract is when you do not receive the supply or you do not make payment in full at the time the contract is made.  It does not apply to contracts under $50.  You must receive a copy within 15 days of signing it.  In addition to the general requirements, a future performance contract must contain the supply date and the date on which the supply of the goods or services will be complete.  You may be eligible to cancel a future performance contract by giving notice to the supplier not later than one year after the date that you receive a copy of the contract if the contract does not contain the required contents.

Please note that there are other provisions in the legislation with respect to cancellation, so it is important to review all the legislation that pertains to direct sales contracts to see what fits your particular situation.
